Richard A. Roberts, 84, Grove City, Ohio died on Friday, April 27th, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was the widower of JoAnn (Moran) Roberts. They shared 55 years of marriage together. Dick was born in Dayton, Ohio, May 3, 1933. He graduated from Roosevelt High School, class of 1951. He earned a BS in Business Management from University of Dayton, class of 1965. Dick served on active duty in the Korean Conflict as a Medical Corpsman in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marine Corps. He retired as President and CEO of the J.P. Sand and Gravel Company, The Cunard Lang Concrete Block Company and Marble Cliff Concrete Block Co. He served as President of the Columbus Block Association and Ohio Block Association and was a member of the board. Prior to moving to Columbus in 1971, Dick was employed by TRW Corporation (Glove Industries Division). Prior employment by The Duriron Co for fifteen years. Both companies were located in Dayton, Ohio. Dick loved music and had a passion for writing poetry. He is survived by sister Lorene (Jim) Peed, Children: Karrie (Michael) Craiglow, and Diane-Randal Roberts, daughter-in-law: Pamala Roberts: grandchildren: Christopher Craiglow, Jennifer (Anthony) Fowler, Daniel Craiglow, Jamie (Robert) Hawkins, and Jeremy Roberts, and great grandchildren: Autumn Hawkins, Amanda Hawkins, John Fowler and Izabelle Craiglow. He was preceded in death by father Loren C. Roberts, mother Olive M. Watson and sister Joanne Kelly. Friends and family may call Thursday May 3, 2018 from 5pm-8pm at Newcomer Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City OH. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Children's Hospital. Dick and his late wife JoAnn contributed to Children's Hospital every year.
