Richard Thudium (1932 – 2026) of Powell, OH, formerly of Silver Lake, OH passed away on May 5, 2026. Born in Washington, MO and reared in Sullivan, IN and Mattoon, IL.
Richard attended the University of Illinois before receiving his bachelors in chemistry from Millikin University and then later completed his masters from Kent State. He was a veteran of the US Navy. Richard was a former employee of the National Lead Co. in Fernald, OH followed by 35 years at Goodyear Tire & Rubber in Akron, and then worked as a consultant at the EC Morris Co. He was a 50-year member of the First United Methodist Church in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. He served in several volunteer capacities in the Akron area including Project Learn, Child Guidance and Family Solutions, and President of Rotary Club.
Richard was preceded in death by daughter Jane Ellen Thudium. He is survived by loving wife Ann of 67 years, daughter Mary Susan Wathen, son Paul (Lisa) and 4 grandchildren: Brian, Laura, Kelsey and John Tanner as well as 6 great grandchildren. He is survived also by his sister Patricia Hobbs of Lamar, CO.

He is to be buried in the family plot in Lexington, KY at a later date.
