Richard Eugene Young

Richard Eugene Young, age 78, died at Chillicothe Veterans Administration Medical Center on April 16, 2025, after an extended illness. Richard was born in Cleveland, Ohio on January 25, 1947, to Henry and Juanita (Scheutle) Young. During his life, he also resided in Dublin, Ohio. A graduate of Garfield Heights High School, Richard earned a bachelor’s degree in international studies from The Ohio State University.

Richard served his country in the United States Air Force, being stationed at Biggs Airforce Base and Rota, Spain during the Vietnam War era. Trained in the Air Force as an electrician, he later worked for Ashland Chemical Company and in several other business endeavors in the Columbus, Ohio area.

Richard was pre-deceased by his parents and a younger brother, Ronald. He is survived by his brother Craig, of Westerville, O.; his former wife Patricia Tribul of Powell, O.; a sister-in-law, Susan Young of Gahanna, O,; his children Rick Young of Grove City, O. and Kristen Young-Powell of North Charleston, S.C.; and two grandchildren, Mason and Matthew Powell.

Arrangements are being coordinated by Newcomer Funeral Home, Grove City, Ohio. Richard will be interred in a private service at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio. Arrangements are pending.
