Richard A. "Rick" Fresch, aged 74, of Minerva Park, Ohio, died peacefully April 22, 2017.
Born June 27, 1942 in Sandusky, Ohio, Rick graduated from Sandusky High School and Cleveland State University, with a BA in Business. He lived in London, Ohio for 21 years where he ran Fresch Chevrolet-Oldsmobile-Cadillac with his father. Rick was past president of the London Jaycees and London Rotary Club. He moved to Minerva Park in 1980 where he owned a life and health insurance agency. Charitable giving was important to Rick, and he served on the Goodwill Columbus Board for 8 years. He was a true Ohioan supporting the Cleveland Browns, Indians, Cavs, and OSU Buckeyes.
Rick is preceded in death by his mother, Audrey J. Fresch; father, Clarence J. Fresch; and infant sister, Vickie Lynn Fresch. He is survived by aunts, Virginia Johnston of Ft Meyers, Florida and Amanda Fresch of Norwalk, Ohio; many cousins; and special friends, Jim and Nancy Puleo; Richard and Ann Hanck; Brian and Melanie Ross; and Rex Osborne.
A friends and family visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 4 pm to 7 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northeast Chapel, 3047 E Dublin Granville Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43231; and also on Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 4 pm to 6pm at Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave., Sandusky, Ohio 44870. Cremation will follow and entombment will take place at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, Ohio at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rick's memory to the Christopher Reeves Foundation for Spinal Research, 636 Morris Turnpike Suite 3A, Short Hills, New Jersey 07078 or to Cat Welfare Association of Ohio, 741 Wetmore Road, Columbus, Ohio 43214.
