Robert Adams, Jr., 83, Columbus, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born in Columbus, OH on November 10, 1931, to Robert Adams Sr and Opal (Dublin) McQueen and is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Marshall and brother, Samuel Adams.
Survivors include his wife, Ave Adams; daughters, Irori Freeman, Leshia Adams and Cheyenne Adams; sons, Gregory, Paris and Christopher (Stevie) Adams; sister, Barbara (Ronald) White; grandchildren, Shamaya Adams, Parris Adams, Makenzie Porter and Tala Adams; great-granddaughter, Khile Prater plus many additional family members and friends.
He served in the US Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam Wars and was a Free Mason. Robert worked for the USPS and the Columbus City Schools for many years. He coached the Mifflin Sharks and NCFA Falcons for 25 years.
Family and friends will gather on Monday, December 22, 2014, 9:00 – 10:00 AM at St. James the Less Catholic Church, 1652 Oakland Park, Columbus, OH 43224. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM at the church.
Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
