Robert Eugene Auten, Jr.

Robert E. Auten, Jr., 58, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018 in Worthington, OH. Robert was born on November 6, 1959 in Columbus to Robert, Sr. and Charlene (Haddox) Auten.

Robert is preceded in death by his grandson, Jace Auten; father; sisters, Rhonda Ward and Mary Moore.

He is survived by his children, Lance Auten, Jarrod (Holly) Auten and Harmony (Doug) Layman; grandchildren, Kahner, Liam, Weston and Trinity; mother, Charlene Kost; niece, Rebecca (Brandon) Blevins; nephews, Michael Ward and William Moore.

Robert Eugene Auten, Jr., Loving Son, Father and Grandfather. Robert loved nothing more than a weekend spent with family watching the Buckeyes and eating great food. You could also find him spending time outdoors fishing, camping, hiking and enjoying nature. He also found joy in helping people any way he could. Often you could find Bob raking a neighbors leaves or shoveling their sidewalks on a cold winter day. Hard work, kindness and a great sense of humor are traits that describe Bob and are traits he passed on to his children. Bob would like his last gathering to be a celebration of his life. As he would say "I'm not going to be there, so throw a party in my honor and celebrate my life and memory." So here's to you Bob, you will always be loved and never forgotten.

Family will receive friends on Friday, July 27, 2017 from 5 to 7pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funeral and Receptions, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., Columbus, OH 43231. A memorial service will immediately follow at 7pm also at Newcomer NE Chapel.
