Robert Orlyn Barton Sr.

Robert O. Barton Sr., 90, of West Jefferson, OH, passed away on August 29, 2017 after a lengthy illness.
Bob was a member of the West Jefferson Volunteer Fire Dept. in it's younger days. Bob was retired from the Madison County Sheriff Department. He was born on September 2, 1926. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Bertha Barton, brothers, Eugene, Raymond, Roger, Herb, Mick, Don, sisters, Shirley, Norma, Carol, Blanche, Mary and also mother and father in law, George and Elizabeth Kitchen. Bob will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving family includes wife of 64 years, Norma Jean, children, Vickey (Dave) Wentzel, Robert (Pam) Barton Jr., Mike (Marsha) Barton, siblings, Doris Doran, James Barton, grandchildren, Seth (Trisha) Wentzel, Matthew (Laura) Wentzel, Josh (Elizabeth) Barton, Jason (Jessica) Barton, Jillian Barton, great-grandchildren, Natalie Wentzel, Jaxson Barton, Joshua Matthew Barton, Adele Barton, Jocelyn Barton, Eli Wentzel, sister-in-law, Virginia Conley and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4-8pm, Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home and Crematory, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH.
A funeral service will be held at 11am, Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hampton Cemetery, West Jefferson, OH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Madison County Humane Society.
