Robert E. Brooks, 90, of New Albany passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014 at St. Ann's Hospital.
He was born November 13, 1923 in Peoria, OH, son of the late Casper and Bertha Laughrey Brooks.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Hamilton Brooks.
He served in the Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict.
Robert is survived by his daughters, Dianne (David) Powell, Jill (Tim) Booth; sons, Steven (Barbara) Brooks, J. Timothy Brooks; grandchildren, Gwynne (Joe) Watkins, Daniel (Aimee) Powell, Alissa Brooks, Jordan Brooks, Jessica Sellke, Emily Booth, Amy Booth; great grandsons, Micah Watkins, Wesley and Benjamin Powell; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Memorial service will be Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 11:00 AM at New Albany Methodist Church, 20 3rd St. New Albany, with visitation one hour prior to services.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to ADENA Adult Day Enrichment at New Albany, 20 3rd St. New Albany, OH 43054.
