Robert "Bob" D. Martindill Jr., age 66, of Thornville, passed away Monday, August 11, 2014. He was born May 5, 1948 in Columbus, Ohio.
Bob recently realized his long-time dream of building his home in the country where he was able to enjoy a true sense of community. He was particularly proud of his American Flag which stands tall on a 25-foot pole in his front yard. His nightly ritual included baking chocolate chip cookies.
He enjoyed spending time with his neighborhood family, working in his garden, building his radio controlled airplanes and collecting patriotic, limited-edition coins. He was an avid Cleveland Indians fan.
He retired from the Franklin County Municipal Clerk of Courts office.
Bob was preceded in death by his son, Albert and his mother, Kathryn.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; children, Carrie (Andy), Robert III (Jennie) and Matthew; grandsons, Ethan and Evan; father, Robert Sr. and his best buddy, Dingo.
Bob's deep love for his family – immediate and extended – was apparent.
At Bob's request, there will be no funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made in Bob's memory to Phi Beta Psi Sorority, 116 Granville Street, Suite 103, Gahanna, OH 43230.
