Robert E. Allen
July 7, 1926 — May 19, 2014
Robert E. Allen, 87, went Home to be with the Lord on May 19, 2014. He was preceded in death by parents, Alvin and Inez Allen; wife, Helen Allen; and son, Alvin "Buddy" Allen.
Robert is survived by children, Carolyn (William) Climer, Mary (David) Whaley, Patricia (Gerald) Perrigo, Dorothy (Mark) Rodecker and Robert (Rebecca) Allen; 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and special friends, Kevin Turner and Joni Jaynes.
WWII Navy Veteran, where he won middleweight Golden Gloves boxing championship and member of VFW Post 495. Robert attended the Honor Flight in Washington, D.C. for WWII. Robert was past president of the Southeast Conservation Club, an avid bowler and softball player, loved animals and spending time with his family.
Visitation Friday, May 23, 2014 from 10am until the time of Funeral Service at 1pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Interment to follow at Green Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, OH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert's name to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
