Robert Kennedy, Jr.

March 24, 1953 — September 8, 2016

Robert "Jim" Kennedy, Jr., age 63, of Galloway, passed Thursday, September 8th, 2016 at home with his family. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Robert J. Kennedy Sr. and Phyllis Ann Miller, and his step mother Geraldine M. Kennedy. Jim is survived by his wife Sharon; son Matthew (Noi); brothers, Steve (Karen), Ron (Karen), Mike and sister, Debbie. He is also survived by many other loving family members.

Jim graduated from Westland High School in Galloway in 1971. The majority of his life, Jim worked for Big Bear and then Giant Eagle as an assistant produce manager. Jim was a simple and soft spoken man, but accomplished amazing things as the President of the Hellbranch Resident's Association and member of the Westside Area Commission. His efforts helped rezone one of the Midwest's only remaining natural watersheds, the Hellbranch Run, as a protected area. He also fought to keep home builders from constructing on several other delicate wildlife areas.

Jim had a special interest in planting trees, and also enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. His favorite thing was vacationing with his wife, son and daughter-in-law, especially taking trips to their family cabin and Lake Erie.
