Robert W. Phillips, age 96, died December 2, 2019. He was born 28 June 1923 in Ironton, Ohio, the son of Frank F. and Beulah M. Phillips, both deceased. Predeceased by his wife Anna Mary "Ann" [nee Wilson] of 38 years and his brothers Frank "Forrie", John B., sister Martha J. Boggs, nephew William Boggs, and by longtime very close friend, Edna M. Wright.
Survived by son, James W. Phillips, Oak Hill OH., daughter, Linda S. Kender, Jupiter, FL., grandchildren Elizabeth, James and Rebecca, great grandchildren including Phillip and Steven Dunnavant, and nephews Frank "Buck" Phillips and Thomas Boggs.
Served as a Navigator on a B-17 in the Army Air Corps during WW II and completed his tour of 30 missions with the 8th Air Force flying from England. After the war, attended Michigan State College and transferred to Ohio State University where he received his BA, LLB, and Doctorate Degrees
Had a general practice of law on the Hilltop for over 55 years. He was a member of Westgate Masonic Lodge 623, Scottish Rite, Aladdin Shrine, Hilltop Shrine Club, Ohio State Bar, Moose #11, VFW Post 4044, American Legion 532, NAUS 15-A, AmVets 1928, and Army-Navy 097.
Per his request, no formal services will be held. Arrangements entrusted to the Newcomer SW Chapel.
