Robert E. Poland, age 78, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on April 2, 2026. He was born July 14, 1947 in Catawba, Ohio to the late Louise (Tom) Oppel, and Warder Poland. He is preceded in death by his sister and brother in law Betty (Bill) Wertz, sister Ruth Swick, brother, Jerry (Sharon) Poland. Mother and father in law, Lawrence and Anna Pauline McKelvey, sister in law, Carol Evans and sister in law and brother in law, Barbara (Robert) Bennett; nephews, Roger Orahood and Clinton Andrix; niece, Teresa Wertz.
Survived by his loving wife of 52 years Patricia, son Adam Poland and daughter Tiffany (Nicholas) McFarland.
Grandchildren Trevor Dixon, Brittany Dixon-McFarland (Bradley Gooch), Nolan McFarland (Olivia Arnold) and AJ McFarland.
Along with brother in law, Fred Evans. Many nieces, nephews and many friends. Best friends and travel buddies of 44+ years to The Great Smoky Mountains, John and Pamela Williams of Artemus, Kentucky.
At the ago of 60 Bob began fulfilling a bucket list of fun - including getting his first tattoo, skydiving, parasailing over Myrtle Beach, NASCAR race car driving and riding in both Huey and Apache Helicopters.Additionally, Bob had a strong passion for woodworking.
He found faith in God during the mid 60's from Patti's parents which later developed their relationship. Bob spoke highly of his church and was a loyal member along with Patti.
After many years in the healthcare industry, Bob retired at the age of 65 as an LPN from The State of Ohio Department of Corrections.
As a final act of generosity, Bob has donated his body for scientific research to Wright State University.
Friends may call at the NEWCOMER SOUTHWEST CHAPEL 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123 on Thursday, April 16, 2026 from 5:00pm to 7:00pn. Funeral services will be held at Cypress Church Youth Ministry Building 457 Alton Darby Road, Galloway, Ohio 43119 on Friday, April 17, 2026 at 10:00am. Pastor Dale George Officiating.
