Robert “Scott” Martin passed away peacefully in his Johnstown home on September 8, 2026, at the age of 58.
Scott was born September 9, 1967 and was raised in Johnstown, Ohio. The son of the late Mary Agnes Suckle and William Randolph Martin, Scott was a lifelong part of the community he loved. He had a gift for bringing people together and knew no strangers. Through his side work as a DJ, he became a familiar and beloved presence at countless events throughout the Johnstown community. Music was one of his greatest passions, but what he loved most was the people, laughter, and connections that came with it.
Scott leaves behind his two children, Samantha (Cody) Bracken and Joshua Martin, and his five cherished granddaughters, Emersyn Bracken, Reese Bracken, Peyton Bracken, Adalynne Looker and Teagan Looker, who brought so much joy to his life. He is also survived by his siblings, Randy (Allison) Martin, John Martin, Deborah Nichols and Linda Martin; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends.
Scott was a kind soul who would do anything for anyone. He didn’t need much in life—just good music, good company, and the love of the people who surrounded him. His social circle meant the world to him, and he had a way of making people feel like they belonged.
Scott fought a hard battle the last couple of years, showing a strength and determination that made his family incredibly proud. Through every challenge, he continued to be the kindhearted, smiling person so many people knew and loved.
Services for Scott will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home 3047 E Dublin Granville Rd, Columbus, OH 43231. Your love and support mean the world to us. If you wish to honor Scott’s memory, direct contributions to help his children with arrangements are deeply appreciated in lieu of flowers.
He leaves behind a legacy of friendship, music, laughter and love. He was a dad, a grandfather, a brother, a friend, and a familiar face who made Johnstown feel a little more like home.
