Rocco T. Manicho, known to many as Rocky, passed away on May 17, 2026, at his home in Columbus, Ohio. He was 68 years old. Born on December 14, 1957, in Columbus, Rocco lived his entire life in the city he called home, surrounded by the people he loved most.
Rocco was a man whose loyalty ran deep. Whether it was family, friends, or even the animals he adored, once you had a place in his heart, you had it for life. He was the kind of guy who showed up, who stayed, and who made sure the people around him knew they mattered. Rocco moved through the world with sharp edges and a stubborn will, but with a heart that kept everyone around him warm.
Rocco loved to fish and would gladly share a pole and hook with his children and their friends and spent hours at rivers and lakes fishing. Before arthritis slowed him down, Rocco was an athlete at heart with a passion for basketball, football, and wrestling. He brought that same competitive fire to his love of racing cars. If he wasn't behind the wheel himself, you could find him planted in front of the TV, cheering on a race with the kind of intensity that made everyone around him lean in a little closer.
He also loved the simpler things in life, like biking, boating, fishing, and gathering with family around a good fire on a cool evening. Those were the moments Rocco lived for, the laughter, the stories, and the warmth of being together.
Rocco is survived by his wife, Sharon Manicho; his children, Summer Manicho, Jasmine Reed and husband Mike, Justin Manicho, Crystal Collins, and Rocco A. Manicho and wife Maura; his sisters, Chrissy Hall and husband Carl, and Peggy Dozier and husband Jim; and his beloved grandchildren, Faith Manicho, Bella, Sicilee, and Jaylee Martin and their father Terry Martin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Thelma Manicho, and his brother, Robert "Bobby" Righter.
Rocco's family takes comfort in knowing that he is now at peace in the arms of his Lord and Savior, reunited with those who went before him. A celebration of Rocco's life will be held at a later date. Details will be shared with family and friends as they become available. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Rocco's memory by spending time with the people you love, preferably around a fire.
