Rodney Hampton, 50, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Mt. Carmel East.
He was born September 29, 1965 in Waukegan, IL, son of Lee Hampton Jr. and Rosetta McGee Hampton.
In addition to his parents, Rodney is survived by his wife, Franlene Brown Hampton; daughter, Takesha (Rickie) Newsome; sisters, Regina Blair and Jenean Hampton; brother, Cedric Hampton; special uncle, James Dean; nieces, Ashley Hampton, Erica Hampton, Lynnea Blair and Nakesha Blair; nephews, D'Aeris Hampton and Dante (Star) Hampton; great nephew, Nathan Hampton and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Rodney enjoyed working out, traveling (Jamaica), UFC, football (Bears), grilling, sketching and his E-commerce business Fran and Rod's Merchandise.
Memorial service will Friday, April 8, 2016 at 12:00 PM at New Salem Baptist Church, 2956 Cleveland Ave. Columbus, with visitation one hour prior to services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart and Stroke Association Great Rivers Affiliate, P.O. Box 15120 Chicago, IL 60693.
