Roger A. Porter, 48, Columbus, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 25, 2014. Roger was born in Mt.Gilead, OH on March 12, 1966, to Maurice and Judy (Tiller) Porter and is preceded in death by grandparents, William Tiller, Forest and Isabelle Porter; uncles, Richard Slack and Butch Porter.
Survivors include his parents; wife, Marlene (Leonard) Porter; Marlene's children, Kelly (Justin) Davis and Casey (Jenny) Shroyer; sister, Robin Porter; brothers, Ryan (Bonnie) Porter and Randy (Erin) Porter; grandchildren, Conner Foster, Cody Foster, Kylie Davis and Devon Shroyer; nieces, Brittany (Patrick), Brooke, Bethany, Brianna and Blair; nephew, Benjamin; grandmother, Chloe Tiller; mother and father-in-law, Wilma and Lex Leonard; plus many other in-laws, family and friends.
Roger worked for Buckeye Valley Grindings. He was a member of First Pentecostal Church on Dakota Avenue where he played guitar in the Praise Band. Roger was a man of deep faith.
Family and friends will gather on Monday, December 1, 2014, 4-7 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Funeral Service at 7:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
