Roger Ken Covault, 63 unexpectedly passed away on October 4, 2026, in Durham, North Carolina.
He was born on November 2, 1962, in Columbus, Ohio.
He served 9 years in the U.S Army and 4 years in the Army Reserves. He spent many years working as a Sheriff and D.A.R.E officer for Cumberland County, NC. He was a top-notch guy when it came to customer service.
He was known for his kind nature and infectious laugh. His sense of humor was like no other. He loved life and everyone in it. He may have loved ELVIS a tad more. He was a simple man; all he needed was his fish & chips, Strongbow and radios. He had a crazy passion for movies, planes, trains and automobiles too!
He is preceded in death by his parents Dr. Lloyd Covault and Janet Covault.
He will be deeply missed and survived by all five children.
His two Pearls, Amanda (John) Hamilton, grandchildren Alessandra, Andrew, Anthony, and Kamryn (great-granddaughter Ayla). And Valerie (Lamar) Brown, grandchildren Sebastin, Andre, Isaiah, Zavier, and Rae.
Sons Jesse (Johanna) Covault, grandchildren Lyla, Leia, and Lorelei.
Jonathan (Elise) Covault, grandchildren Harper, and Aria.
Joseph (Breanna) Covault, grandchildren Dexter, and Oliver.
He is also survived by his two sisters and an only brother, Sherry (Rick) Williams, Jane (Tom) Cook and Michael (Cindy) Covault; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends who were fortunate to know and love him.
Thank you for your service. “What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes a part of us”. Helen Keller
