Ronald Weeks

Ronald (Ron) Weeks, 81, passed away on April 5, 2025 after a two year battle with cancer. He was born July 1, 1943 in Bellefontaine, Ohio to Haskell and Florence Weeks, both predeceased as are brothers Jack and James. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Diane, and children, Andrew Weeks and Suzanne Chou (Benjamin), and grandchildren Karina, Naomi, and Abigail Chou. Also by his nephew Scott Weeks and niece Tracy Weeks and numerous cousins.

Ron graduated from Riverside High School in DeGraff, Ohio in 1961. In 1973 he earned a Bachelor’s degree from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio. He was a proud veteran having served in the U.S. Army from 1965-67 which included an 10 month deployment in Vietnam.

His career was with financial institutions. He retired from PNC in 2005. Then he enjoyed working part time for Sears Hardware for a few years.

Ron had many interests that enriched his life. He enjoyed camping, traveling, golfing, reading (especially westerns), gardening. Considerable time was spent puttering around outside and in friendly interactions with neighbors and their dogs. He especially enjoyed family gatherings where the granddaughters would play piano, guitars and sing.

He also enjoyed time spent volunteering at the Stratford Ecological Center teaching others, especially the young, about the wonders of nature.

A visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home Northeast, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43231. There will be a gathering for a short memorial following the visitation.
