Maria Del Rosario Whittington, known affectionately as Rosario, aged 49, of Grove City, Ohio, spread her wings and took her final flight on May 22, 2025. Born on December 4, 1975, in charming Chihuahua, Mexico, she was the daughter of the late Rosa Sigala Gutierrez. We like to think that mom created a delicious recipe for life that involved a generous serving of love, a handful of hard work, and a sprinkle of feistiness.
Rosario is survived by her loving husband, Scott Whittington, who likely is still dreaming of her signature dishes that set the bar sky-high for home-cooked meals. Their delightful crew includes her children: Jazmin Sigala, Jesus Sigala, Jett Whittington, and Janette Whittington — each a testament to her loving spirit! She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Jayven Sigala, Yanett Contreras, and Alonso Contreras, who undoubtedly have been spoiled with grandma's famous treats.
In a family like hers, the kitchen was always bustling, as Rosario was a culinary magician. It wasn't love at first sight for her husband; it was definitely love at first bite! Her recipes were the kind that linger in your memory long after the last bite—a true hallmark of a great cook.
An industrious soul, Rosario had a knack for balancing everything in life with grace. Hardworking and loyal, she made a positive impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her, or even just to share a meal. Her feisty personality added extra spice to family gatherings, and her willingness to lend a helping hand was unmatched. Not to mention her love for the thrill of the casino—betting it all while wearing a smile was part of her charm!
Her absence will leave an immense hole in the hearts of those she touched. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Rosario's remarkable life on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Newcomer SW Chapel, located at 3393 Broadway in Grove City, Ohio. Calling hours will be from 11am to 1pm, followed by a lively funeral service starting at 1pm. Everyone is encouraged to share stories and laughter, just as Rosario would have wanted. A burial will follow at Grove City Cemetery, where she will rest, but her spirit will soar high above, coaxing smiles and bringing warmth to all who fondly remember her.
Though Rosario has taken her last gamble on this earthly casino, her legacy of love, laughter, and cooking up joy will stay with us forever. She will be deeply missed, but not forgotten.
