Ruby Kathryn "Katie" Mayes, 83, of Hilliard, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016 at St. Ann's.
She was born September 18, 1932 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, George Albert Bates, Ruby Pearl Cupp Vrancken and John F. Vrancken; husband, Norman Mayes.
She is survived by her brothers, Art (Carol) Vrancken and Al (Barbara) Vrancken; sisters, June (Dr. William) Adrion and Mary Schubert.
Visitation will be Monday, May 16, 2016 from 10:00-11:00 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Wayne Booth, officiating.
Interment will be in Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Franklin County Animal Shelter & Adoption Center, 4340 Tamarack Blvd. Columbus, Ohio 43229.
