Rudolph A. "Rudy" Spanovich, 91, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2016 in Columbus, OH. Rudy was born on July 5, 1924 in Columbus to Joseph and Helen Spanovich.
Rudy is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his brother, Joseph Spanovich; niece, Julia (Jack) Allen; nephews, Anthony (Becky) Spanovich and Joseph (Ann) Spanovich; great-nieces and nephews, Ben, Caitlin, Brian (Paige) Allen, Joey and Suzy Spanovich; and great great-niece and nephew, Grace and Gavin Allen.
Rudy graduated from OSU with a degree in education. He worked as a Teacher at Whitehall City Schools and retired in 1985. Rudy enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and to his parents' homeland, Hungary. In his later life, he was involved with the Gahanna Senior Center, and enjoyed playing cards with his friends. He was a devoted son, brother, and uncle and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, May 28, 2016 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43231 followed by Memorial Services at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, 383 Main Ave. 5th Floor Norwalk, CT 06851 in Rudy's memory.
