Ruth Bonnie Smith

Ruth Bonnie Smith, 96, of Dublin, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026.

Bonnie was born on May 22, 1930, in Rarden Township, Ohio, to Charles Edgar Lawrence and Dortha Newman Lawrence. In 1949, she married Arthur Smith, and together they welcomed their son, Gregory Steven Smith, who was born on February 17, 1953.

Bonnie spent 14 years working for Sandia Corporation in Albuquerque, New Mexico. After returning to Ohio in 1967, she began a career with Battelle Memorial Institute in Columbus, where she worked until her retirement in 1995.

She enjoyed a long and fulfilling life and will be remembered for her dedication to her family and her strong work ethic.

Bonnie is survived by her son, Greg Smith, and daughter-in-law, Mary Shipley Smith; her brother, Norman Lawrence, and his wife, Sharlene Lawrence; along with other relatives and friends who will cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Edgar Lawrence and Dortha Newman Lawrence, and her husband, Arthur Smith.

Her family will forever treasure the memories they shared and the love she gave throughout her life.
