Ruth M. Oberla, 83 of Centerburg, passed away on August 24, 2016. Born on March 31, 1933 to the late William and Elsie (Pfleager) Kelly in Columbus, OH. Graduate of Linden McKinley High School and Columbus Technical Institute. Retired from Evans Adhesive. Ruth led a full life which included being a Girl Scout leader for eight years. She enjoyed gardening, making jewelry, hiking, square dancing, bowling, reading and was a prolific seamstress. Ruth and her husband, Jim, traveled to 49 states, over 80 countries spanning all continents. They spent their retirement years in Centerburg, OH while wintering in Mesa, AZ. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by daughter Lorinda, sister Jeanne Wassmuth and brother Leo Kelly. Ruth is survived by her husband James, of 63 years; daughter Valerie (Joel) Moore; son James (Rebecca); grandchildren Eric, Stephen (Jacquelin), Evan, Sean, Abigail and Anna; great grandson Adam; sisters Viola Gossett and Frances Greene; and brother William (Elnora) Kelly.
Interment at Kingwood Memorial Park following family memorial service.
