Grove City, Ohio

Listen to Obituary

Sally Louise (Lockwood) Terry, age 82, of Grove City, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

Sally was born on May 17, 1944, to Earl and Rebecca (Funk) Nance. She was one of fourteen children born to Earl and Rebecca. After Rebecca’s untimely passing, Sally was among the youngest children who were adopted by family members. Sally, along with her sister Judy, was adopted by Ralph and Marjorie (Weisheimer) Lockwood and raised in Upper Arlington, Ohio.

Sally graduated from Upper Arlington High School in 1962 and married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Charles “Chuck” Terry. Chuck and Sally had two children, and Sally was able to be a stay-at-home mom, raising her two boys all over the country as Chuck traveled as a salesman specializing in tools. After traveling the country for many years, they settled in Hartville, Ohio, where they lived for over 20 years. In 2005, they decided to return to their roots and purchased their home in Grove City, Ohio, just south of where they both grew up, where they lived out the rest of their lives.

Sally enjoyed her time at home raising her boys, tending to her yard and garden, and making a home for her family. She was also an early adopter of the internet and always had a chatroom dedicated to a musician or band she followed, beginning with the Gaither Vocal Band and, more recently, Celtic Thunder. She even took a trip to Ireland in 2022 to visit Celtic Thunder in their homeland.

Sally will always be remembered for knowing exactly what she wanted, never being afraid to speak her mind, and always making sure she was heard. She will also be remembered for having a huge, if not reluctant, heart and always being there to support her family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren she adored so much.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Rebecca Nance; her adoptive parents, Ralph and Marjorie Lockwood; her late husband, Charles “Chuck” Terry; brothers Jack, Gene, Raymond, Bill, Ronnie, and Donald Nance; and sisters Bernadine, Betty, Sandra, and Judy.

Sally is survived by her two children, Bryan (Denise) Terry and Robert Terry; grandchildren Zachary (Jordan) Terry, Erin Terry, and Drake Terry; and four wonderful great-grandchildren, Lincoln Welch-Scofield, Elliana Terry, Finnian Terry, and Sophia Terry.
