Samuel Oliver

Samuel F. Oliver Jr, age 76 of Grove City, Ohio, passed away suddenly on May 19, 2026. Born in Steubenville, Ohio to the late Samuel and Gladys Oliver on January 19, 1950. Sam was a graduate of Steubenville High School, and The Ohio State University with a B.S. in Natural Resources. He was a Sgt. in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years. After the Air Force, Sam worked for Abbott Labs in Logistics until his retirement. He enjoyed woodworking, gunsmithing, and the outdoors. He was Pastor of the church he attended, The Columbus Restoration Branch, for 18 years. Survived by Karen Oliver (spouse), Brian Oliver (son), Leona Oliver (sister), David Joyce (nephew), Andrew Joyce and T.J. Joyce (both great nephews), Heather Joyce (great niece), and Gary Cunningham and Bob Rickman (both brother-in-laws), and many other cousins. Preceded in death by parents, Samuel and Gladys Oliver, sisters Beverly Jones and Adonna Joyce, and nephew Tim Joyce. Memorial service will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 from 4:00pm to 5:00pm.
