Mr. Samuel Lewis Tolliver, (80) is in the presence of the Lord our God, the heavenly father opened his arms and took him home on April 16, 2018. Sam has finally found the peace he longed for. Sam was born January 22, 1938, and raised in Urbancrest, Ohio. Sam was the last of his siblings, he was baptized in Jesus Name and attended the Urbancrest School.
Sam was a man that enjoyed walking wherever he had to go and he did so until the day of his passing. He was a very private independent man with a pleasant smile. He was very, very dedicated to his Church Home, Bethel Apostolic Church of Christ in Urbancrest, Ohio. He will be most remembered for his creative, inventive push carts that he built to support himself as he walked to the bus stop. Sam loved to give, and found joy in doing so. He always gave out $2.00 bills and would crochet scarves, blankets and hats as well, for gifts.
He was preceded in death by his Father James Albert Tolliver and his Mother Fannie Mae (Kemper) Tolliver. Grandparents; Henry and Mary Elizabeth Kemper; Sisters; Helen Tolliver, Margaret Ann Tolliver, and Edna Mae (Tolliver) McDaniel. Brothers; Lawrence Tolliver, Elmer Tolliver, Richard Tolliver, Harry Tolliver, Ernest Tolliver.
He leaves to cherish his memory, Niece; Darlene (McDaniel) Galloway. Nephews; Eddie and Donald Galloway. Sister-in-Law; Thelma Tolliver. Special Cousin; Elberta Barnes, and a host of Cousins. Special friends; Elder Richard Lyles, his Pastor, and Elder Joseph L. Barnes Sr., Mayor of Urbancrest, better known to Sam as "Mr. Barnes" and his Bethel Apostolic Church of Christ Family.
The Celebration of his life will be held on Monday April 23, 2018 at 7:00 pm, at Bethel Apostolic Church of Christ, 2809 Maple Street, Urbancrest, Ohio 43123.
