Samuel Conrad Van Person

Samuel Conrad Van Person, 65, of Columbus, passed away at home, surrounded by family on February 6, 2026. He was born in Columbus to the late Charles R. and Charlotte (Reedy) Van Person.

He is survived by his loving partner of over 27 years, Sharon Moser; brother Charles R. Van Person Jr. (Kathy); and family, Ashley (John “Bubba”) Carpenter; Michael Shawn Moser (Lori); Jovan Carpenter; Brian Walker Jr. (Amanda); Ryan Walker (Chelsea Gallagher); Michael Beckman (Kimberly); Shawn Moser (Kathren); and many other family members and friends.

Along with his parents, Sam was preceded in death by his previous wife Barbara Van Person.

Sam was a manager at Zettler Hardware for many years. He appreciated helping people figure out their projects and was a master of “hillbilly ingenuity”. When he wasn’t working, Sam loved to go on cruises, fishing, mushroom hunting, and watching Mash and Ice Road truckers.

Immediate family will greet friends and family from 10am to 12pm, Monday, February 16, 2026, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions – Northeast, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43231. A service to honor Sam’s life will be held at 12noon, Monday, February 16, 2026, at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Northlawn Memory Gardens, Westerville.
