Sara "Sally" Louise Eikleberry, 75, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the Kobacker House.
She was born August 8, 1938 in Waynesburg, PA where she lived for 17 years.
Sally graduated from Morgantown High School in 1956 and attended West Virginia University. She was an Airline Hostess with Capital Airlines based in Chicago, IL.
Sally is survived by her children, Scott (Alex) Eikleberry and Sheri (Jim) Whisler; grandchildren, Jeremiah and Aaron Whisler, Rory and Niklaus Eikleberry; brother, Albert Zimmerman Jr.; ex-husband, Heber Gene Eikleberry; 2 nephews; 1 niece; 3 great nieces and 2 great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lena Donley Zimmerman and Albert Zimmerman Sr.; grandparents, Eliza Morris Zimmerman, Robert Zimmerman, Mary Brewer Donley and Milton Donley.
Sally lived in Cleveland where she was employed at the Cleveland Clinic in Radiology before moving to Columbus in 1961. She worked in Radiology at Doctor's Hospital North for 2 years leaving to raise a family. After her divorce in 1977 she started a new career at The Ohio State University first in Dentistry and then at Fisher College of Business in the Department of Development and External Affairs as Fiscal and Human Resources Coordinator retiring in 2001. She was a longtime member of Central College Presbyterian Church and the national organization of Clipped Wings, United Airlines Alumni with a philanthropic project of Special Olympics. Sally was also a life member of Ohio State University Retirees Associations (OSURA).
Visitation will be Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus.
Funeral service will be Sunday, January 26, 2014 at 2:30 PM at Central College Presbyterian Church, 975 S. Sunbury Rd. Westerville.
