Scottie Mel Daniels, age 48, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Throughout Scottie’s battle with cancer, he exemplified courage and strength while inspiring everyone that was fortunate enough to know him. His unmovable faith in God gave him the strength to not only navigate him though his cancer battle but also minister to his wife, family and friends throughout his journey.
Scottie is survived by his parents Wilma Hinkle and Gary Daniels (Theresa Daniels). Scottie is survived by his wife Maria Daniels, wife of 20 years. Scottie and Maria raised and loved 4 beautiful children, Janea Daniels, Angelina Escobedo and grandson Ezra Escobedo, Kristina Smith (Jamari Smith) and grandchildren Oliva Smith and Michael Smith and Billy Middleton. Scottie is survived by his sister Minerva Daniels (Dawn Cooper), nephew Clayton Cooper-Daniels and brother Tyler Peck.
Scottie dedicated over 20 years of service to Classic Papering and painting. During Scottie’s career, he achieved a high level of respect among colleges and clients. In his personal time, he enjoyed being on a lake fishing with his closest friends and family, working diligently on his vehicles and home or spending time with his family. He was nothing short of a dedicated individual to any project he undertook. Scottie approached life with integrity and purpose, leaving his mark of excellence in all his endeavors. His many selfless acts exemplified his kindness to humanity, especially in 2025 when he heroically rescued a woman from a burning building.
To know him, was to love him.
