Selba Jean Starkey

Selba Jean Starkey (Jones), of Lockbourne, passed away October 26, 2018 at the age of 80. Selba was born in McArthur, Ohio on May 6, 1938 to Birdeth Evelyn Chesser (Mace, Jones) and William Bryant Jones.
She was an accounting specialist with the State Library of Ohio where she enjoyed working with her best friends Barb and Suzy. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. For those who knew Selba, they also knew of her kindness, passion for her dogs, and sense of humor as she was quite a character in her later years. Selba will be deeply missed by friends, family, and all who knew her. She is survived by her step brother, Ron E. Chesser of New Port Richey, Florida and her step children, Deborah Starkey Neal (Brian) of Proctorville OH, S.V. Starkey Jr. "JR" (Jennifer) of Piqua OH, Richard Starkey (Annette) of Lockbourne OH, several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step father Joe Chesser, and siblings Lyndy, Katherine, June, and Elsie, and her husband S.V. Starkey.
The family will hold a memorial and receive visitors 2:00 - 4:00 pm, concluding with a brief Order of the Eastern Star service, at 3:45pm this Sunday at Newcomer Funeral Home 3393 Broadway, Grove City.
