With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Shannon Leigh Harrison (February 28, 1986-January 3, 2025), a beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who left this world too soon. Shannon’s mother and father were with her when she passed. Born in Columbus Ohio, Shannon attended Westland, & Central Crossing High Schools.
Shannon had a vibrant spirit and love of music that touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Her love for singing and performing was infectious. She could often be found at karaoke nights captivating audiences with soulful renditions of her favorite songs. Her signature performance of “Me and Bobby McGee” was a testament to her talent and love of music. Her eclectic taste was shown through her talent to compose and perform her original hip-hop songs. Shannon’s laughter and warmth were as memorable as her voice.
Preceded in death by Grandparents, Clyde Harrison Sr., and Bill Charles; Step-father, Steve Newland; Uncles, Mikey Bennett, & Wesley Harrison. Shannon is survived by her loving family, Father, Clyde (Lisa) Harrison; Mother, Lori Ann Newland; Grand-Parents, Linda Charles, Susan (Michael) Bennett, and Francis Squires (Michael Riley), Sisters, Jeanie Chambers & Kathryn (Anthony) Skinner; many Nieces & Nephews, and a wide circle of friends who became family over the years.
At Shannon’s request, only a Graveside service will be held at Alton Cemetery, Alton Darby Rd. Galloway OH 43119, on Thursday January 9th at 10:00AM with Pastor Roger Howard officiating. An additional celebration of life to be announced for a later date.
Though she may no longer be with us, Shannon’s spirit will continue to sing on, echoing in the hearts of all those who loved her.
