Sherlene Yvette Parker, 68, of Columbus, Ohio unexpectedly went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 19, 2016. She was born in Huntington, West Virginia on September 6, 1948 to Lesley and Alma (Brown) Gordon. She is preceded in death by her father; grandmother, Beulah Brown.
Sherlene is survived by ex-husband, Larry Parker; daughters, Stephanie Parker and Michele (Dwyane) Grant; sister-in-law, Gerri; grandchildren, Keith, Stephan, Kiera; mother, Alma; 2 brothers and a sister; best friends, Jenette, Mary, Gale, Laydia. Sherlene's loss will be deeply felt by many other friends, family members and neighbors too numerous to name.
Sherlene was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She was liked by everyone who met her. She instilled ambition and hard work in her family. She loved traveling and particularly going to the casinos. She was a great cook whose meals will be missed.
A wake will be held at Mount Hermon Baptist Church, 2283 Sunbury Road, Columbus, Ohio at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2016. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. also at the church. Burial will be immediately after at Forest Lawn Memorial Garden, 5600 E. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43213.
