Sherri Hinaman (Ames), 56, of Columbus, joined our Lord Jesus Christ in eternal life on Saturday, September 24, 2016.
Born and raised in Columbus on January 13, 1960 to Shirley Hyatt (Ames) and the late Franklin Ames, she was the middle of five children.
Sherri attended Holy Name Catholic Church throughout her years of schooling. She worked many jobs while raising her two children until she met her soul mate, Jeff Hinaman. They were married on July 12, 1986. Sherri went back to school to get her GED and started her own tax business in 1989. Jeff and Sherri were best friends for 30 years. Sherri was known for her wonderful personality, wisdom and taking care of others. She would give you the shirt off her back yet never have a problem standing up for what she believed in. Her passion was her business, family and her five grandchildren.
Sherri is survived by her husband, Jeff Hinaman; children, Shawn Cassady and Katrina (Chris) Snell; grandchildren, Mariah, Haley, Eli, Abram, and Liam; mother, Shirley (John) Hyatt; brothers, Don Holland and Frank (Dixie) Ames; sisters, Connie (Danny) Farmer and Debbie (Dave) Mulpas; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, September 29, 2016 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, OH 43231. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 30, 2016 at 11:00am at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 1420 Grandview Ave. Columbus, OH 43212. She will be laid to rest at Waldo Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The James Cancer Research Center, 660 Ackerman Rd. Columbus, OH 43218.
