Sherri L. Marcum

March 15, 1965 — March 21, 2016

On March 21, 2016, surrounded by a gathering of family and close friends, Sherri Lynn Marcum, of Glenford, OH, passed into peace with Jesus after a brave battle with cancer. She was born in Parkersburg, WV on March 15, 1965, the daughter of James and Sue "Maw" McDonald, and Robert Boyles.

She has two brothers: Mike (Sandy) McDonald and David (Natalie) McDonald. On October 16, 1999, she married the love of her life, James "Mike" Marcum, and they shared over 16 beautiful years full of love, joy and laughter.

They are the proud parents of one son, Brandon (Casey) Boyles, and two daughters: Tyler (Nathan) Marcum and Kelly (Chad) Johnson. They are blessed with six lively grandchildren: Chase, Josiah, Aleena, Riley, Trevor and Lillyan. Sherri "adopted" several other kids as her own: Herbie Swank, Tammy Carpenter, Kaleigh Bailey, Tre Downour and Matt Shafer. Additionally, she was delighted to be called "Grandma" by their children: Noah, Ben, Charlie, L J, Gage and the eagerly-awaited new arrival, Roxlyn and many nieces and nephews.

For their loving care and assistance on the path that led to her heavenly home, the family would like to extend special thanks to her sisters-in-law (Lois Mullins and Sue Marcum) and brothers-in-law, Les Marcum and Porter Mullins. Sherri had much love to give and received much love in return. She was happiest when spending time with her family and husband.

She enjoyed truck and tractor pulls, vacations, spending time outdoors, shopping and Bob Seger's music. Sherri was preceded in death by her father, James McDonald, as well as her father- and mother-in-law, Herman and Nancy Marcum.

Upon Sherri's request, the family will have a private celebration of life at her home in lieu of funeral services.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Perry County Cancer Alliance, P.O. Box 724, New Lexington, OH 43764.
