Shirley Evans Allen

Shirley Evans Allen, age 89, of Grove City, Ohio, passed away on October 27, surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 11, 1936 in Lawrence County, Ohio to the late Elizabeth (Miller) & Everett Evans and preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Gary W. Allen. Shirley is survived by her favorite sister, Beverley (Norm, dec.) Morris and favorite brother Blaine (Sharon) Evans; children: Michele (Ron) Demmy, Tammy (Jeff) Thornton and Scott (Heather) Allen; grandchildren: Lindsay, Evan, Logan, Hannah, Hailee, Amber, Chrystal, Christian, Meghan, Cheyenne, Justin, Drew and 22 precious great-grandchildren, as well as two spoiled outside cats, Lily and Rosie.

Shirley was a devoted stay-at-home mom, then worked at and retired from Huntington National Bank in the Grove City, Westland and Great Southern branches. Shirley and Gary enjoyed many years of retirement in their dream home, gardening, traveling with friends and spending the winters in AZ.

She was an eager traveler (near or far,) gardener, crafter, quilter and Mah Jongg & Wordle player. Shirley will be missed by all those whose lives she touched, but especially by those who affectionately called her Mom or Grandma Shirley-Bird.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 2nd from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Leave a Mark Church, 4818 Parsons Ave., Columbus, Ohio and again on Monday, November 3rd from 10:00am to 11:00am before a funeral service starting at 11:00am, with Pastor Steve Combs officiating. Interment will follow at Concord Cemetery, Grove City, Ohio.
