Shirley M. Barnette

Shirley M. Barnette, age 80 of Johnstown, passed away at her residence on May 2, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 7, 1936 to the late William A. and Anna Mae (Campbell) Chafin in Lebanon, VA. Shirley is survived by daughters Sandra K (Mark) Wheeler, Sally F. Glassman, both of Johnstown, three grandchildren Marla (Derek) Rhodeback, Carlee and Austin Glassman, great grandson Owen James Rhodeback, brother Bobby B. (Vera) Chafin. She is preceded in death by husband Bobby O. Barnette Sr, son Bobby Barnette Jr, grandson Bobby James Wheeler, sisters Avon Chafin, Lois Chafin, Billie Ann Chafin King and Augustus Chafin. Shirley was a member of the Eastern Star, past Worthy Matron Chapter Clinch Valley #152OE2 and Grand Representatives Association of Virginia, O.E.S and attended the First Southern Baptist Church in Johnstown and Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Lebanon, Va.

Graveside service will be held at Greenhill Cemetery, Johnstown, OH on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 2pm with Pastor Michael Rector officiating.
