On Sunday, May 31st, 2015, SHIRLEY LYNN WAYBRIGHT (Leach), at a vibrant 69 years old, passed peacefully at Mt Carmel West. She was born September 21st, 1945 in Columbus. She was the devoted wife of D. Eugene "Gene" Waybright (deceased), a proud mom, and a doting grandmother; who always put her family foremost in all she did.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Ryan (Bollin); brothers, Ronald Leach and John Ryan; sisters, Pat Danielson (Leach) and Frankie Roush (Leach). She is survived by her father, John Ryan; brothers, Mike Leach and Harold (Gladys) Leach; her children, Alice (Woody) Plants, Robert (Margo) Campbell, Timothy (CheChe) Campbell, James (Michelle) Campbell, Deanna Campbell, Shanan (Shannon) Coats, Daniel (Jossie) Waybright; grandchildren, Tonica, Josh, Carl, Joey, Matt, Lauren, Sarah, Alexis, Sherree, Cody, Kayleigh, Nathan, C.J., Megan, Jessica, Andrew, Danielle, Becky, Travis; great grandchildren, Brooke, Anabelle; dear friends Cookie Cutlip and Donna Griglik; and all her other friends and relatives.
Shirley touched many people in her life, helping when and where she could, anyone who needed it. It was her gift of big-hearted giving, her love of Jesus Christ and her, often times, naivety of worldly things that endeared her to us all, bringing smiles of joy. Because, regardless of how dire things appeared to be, her centered faith kept her forever happy. Whether it was fishing at Westgate Park or "hand & foot" with her family and friends, it's hard to find someone who cannot describe her without referring to her cup of tea, or her constant rocking, or the glasses she desperately needed always atop her head. The challenge is finding someone whom she did not make a positive impact on, and that, is what made Shirley Waybright so special.... and will make her so dearly missed.
Her memorial service will be held at 4pm on Tuesday, June 9th at Newcomer, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123, with a Visitation immediately following from 4:30-7:00pm. Shirley's inurnment will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, June 10th, at the Sunset Cemetery, 6959 W. Broad St., Galloway OH 43119, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Gene.
In lieu of flowers/gifts, the family requests that donations be made to the American Lung Association, at www.lung.org , in memory of Shirley.
