Sigrid Marjean (Burton) Metzger passed peacefully in her home on Thursday January 15 , 2026 . Born October 22, 1953, the second of four girls, known as Marjean, and one of "Bob's girls" . Growing up, Marjean found a talent for softball and was always active. Often going fishing with her dad as a child, she noticed the outdoors gave her calm and peace, later saying she would have loved a career as a park ranger had things gone differently. Instead, she and Frank became entrepreneurs and built both a business and a family together for 52 years. With a fondness of nature and animals all of her life, she realized genuine happiness and contentment at the Metzger Farm almost immediately after moving there in 1997. The farm came with tractors and equipment, outbuildings and horses, a dog, a cat, space to grow and learn. Marjean embraced it all. She loved to travel and read, she enjoyed a little gamble at the slots, and always had an iced tea in her hand with a smile, delivering some kind of witty sarcasm to all who visited. Those who know her best would describe her as fiercely independent and strong, as someone who would bend backwards to help those she loves, dependable, tough, and irreplaceable. Visitation will be held Wednesday January 21st at Newcomer (3047 E Dublin Granville Rd . Columbus, OH 43231) 11:00 am to 1:00 pm; entombment and service to follow 2:00-3:00 pm at Resurrection Cemetery Chapel (9571 N. High St. Lewis Center OH 43035). She is survived by her husband, Frank Metzger; daughter Michelle (Ray) Weaver; and sons, Matthew Metzger and Mark Metzger; Grandchildren, Shawn Metzger, Samuel (Karley) Metzger, Joseph Weaver, Jack Weaver, Quinn Weaver, and Canaan Weaver; and her best dog Bane; Sisters, Sheila (Greg) Saiter; Darleen Hayhurst; and Sharon (Paul) Black; Countless Friends and loved ones, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Doris (Perry) Burton, greeted at the rainbow bridge by many furry friends.
