Sim Doung Lim Keo, born April 5th 1953 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Passed December 8th 2019 in Columbus, Ohio at the age of 66. Sim was the daughter of Suy Lim and Sun Luy. Second oldest of 6 children. She grew up in Phnom Penh doing various works such as housekeeping and selling food in the markets.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons after Khmer Rouge communist regime. A few years later she met Savoeun Keo whom she married and bore two children Savy and Savorn Keo. Prior to being sponsored by the Lutheran Church in Grove City, Ohio, Savoeun and Sim accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior as she was a Buddhist and her husband was Muslim. They came to the United States of America on October 17th 1984. After a year of living in America she and her husband Savoeun were able to find a Cambodian Evangelical Church in which they were able to continue the work God set in their hearts. Not only was Sim a dedicated wife and mother she loved to cook and serve others no matter who they were.
She touched many lives with her caring gentle spirit. Sim was a vessel used by God and a Proverbs 31 woman. In 2014 Sim was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver and there her journey of being ill began and what ultimately took her life. Sim was survived by her husband of 42 years, Savoeun Keo, two daughters Savy and Savorn Keo. Seven grandchildren Rachel, Analissa, Andrae, Davianna, Ari, Thayvi, and Reagan. She was also survived by one great grandson Wiley Wolf.
Visitation will be held at the Newcomer Southwest Chapel 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123 on Friday, December 20, 2019 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Funeral services will then be held at 10:00am Saturday, December 21, 2019, at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Grove City Cemetery.
