Mr. Sovatboun Sambo passed away on May 24, 2021 at 12:30am.
He was born on February 26, 1928 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Survived by his wife of 61 years - Savan Chou; his younger sister Sopharan Sambo; and (7) children: Botoyany, Botoyaneth, Sorina (Woods), Sean Sopheaktra, Christopher Sovathara, Susan (Moore), and Anthony Veasna; including (20) grandchildren.
He was one of (6) children; his brothers: Sombun, Bounroeung and Kesoy Tieng; his sisters: Sopharin and Sopharan.
He started his career as a Municipal police officer. Then he later joined the Cambodian Army and achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He was also an Army officer for the Black French Army. He eventually left the Cambodian Army and was appointed to be an ambassador for Laos in 1975, where he finished out his career before retirement.
The viewing will be held on Sunday, May 30, 2021 from 3-5:00pm at Newcomer-SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City. The Monks will lead the chanting and ceremony from 3:30-4:30pm.
