Listen to Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Srinivas Cherkupalli Reddy, who passed away at the age of 69.

Srinivas lived a life defined by determination, love for his community and devotion to his family. Raised in Hyderabad, India, he was the youngest of four children and graduated from All Saints High School and Nrupatunga Junior College. Srinivas followed in the footsteps of his father Dr. Chenna Reddy and pursued an engineering career, graduating from North Dakota State University in Mechanical Engineering.

After college, Srinivas married Dr. Vinutha Reddy and had two sons, Varun and Kiran. He worked several jobs to support his family that led to stops in Greenville, South Carolina and Middletown, Connecticut. Relocating with his family to Columbus, Ohio in 1992, he embarked on a new chapter in his career, transitioning into the mortgage industry. Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit and a commitment to helping others achieve homeownership, he founded The Charter Mortgage Company in 1993. Through his leadership and dedication, he built a respected business that served families throughout the Columbus, Ohio community for many years.

Those who knew Srinivas will remember his genius level knowledge, witty jokes and generosity. He enjoyed home improvement projects, playing golf (in his unique way), winning every trivia game in town, learning complex science concepts, and injecting humor in countless card games within the community.

Srinivas was a trusted mentor, a loyal friend, and a compassionate presence in the lives of many. Whether through his professional endeavors or personal relationships, everyone who was fortunate enough to know Srinivas always smile and share stories of how he made a lasting impact on their life through his wisdom and support during challenging times.

Srinivas's legacy lives on through the family he loved, the business he built, and the values of integrity, perseverance, and kindness that he passed onto future generations.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his wife, sons, daughter in law, extended family, friends, colleagues, and all whose lives he touched.

May his memory be a blessing and an enduring source of comfort to those who mourn his loss.
