Stanley E. Hatfield, affectionately known as "Joe," passed away peacefully on April 2, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on December 13, 1952, in Columbus, Ohio, Joe was a warm-hearted soul who touched the lives of many through his goofy and silly personality. His unwavering love for life, coupled with a sincere devotion to his family and friends, made him a beloved figure in the community.
Joe was an ardent fan of Ohio State sports, proudly cheering them on with infectious enthusiasm. He often embraced his inner nerd, which only endeared him more to those fortunate enough to know him. A lover of nature, he found profound joy in the great outdoors, conjuring memories of journeys and adventures that he often shared with his loved ones.
Joe's warmth will be deeply missed by his surviving family. He leaves behind his beloved daughters, Andrea Graham and Carrie Nowicki, along with his cherished grandsons, Chase Nowicki, Chad Nowicki, Chance Nowicki, Elijah J. Graham and a host of many cousins. Their affection for Joe was a constant reminder of the loving father and grandfather he was.
Joe was preceded in death by the love of his life, Debra Ann Hatfield, whose memory remains a guiding presence in the hearts of all who knew them together. He is also preceded by his father, Fred Hatfield, and mother, Della Hatfield, who welcomed him into the world.
A visitation to honor Joe’s life will take place on April 10, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest, located at 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. In these moments of remembrance, family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and celebrate a man whose life was marked by kindness, laughter, and an enduring love for family. To honor his memory please wear your favorite OSU gear to help showcase his love for his favorite team.
Though Joe may no longer walk among us, his spirit will live on in the joyful memories he created, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave so freely.
Joe will be laid to rest next to the love of his life on April 11, 2025 at 11 am at Silent Home Cemetery, in Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
