Stella Giovannina Marino-Lawrence, 73, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2014 in Columbus, Ohio. She was born on January 15, 1941 in Charleston, West Virginia to Frank and Lydia Mae Marino.
Stella is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Frank Jr.; and sister, Mary Frame. She is survived by her sister Frances (Phil) Rouse; children, Janna (Carl) Berlin, Jeff (Hikmat), David (Laura) Lawrence; grandchildren, Cassidy, Erica, Brittany, Samantha, Cameron, Parker, and Alex; several nieces and nephews; and many other loving family members and friends.
Stella was famous for her peanut butter fudge, wedding cakes, and lasagna. Her customers at Marino's Variety Shop also loved her New England-style coney dogs. She enjoyed the simpler things in life, like board games, playing cards, and music.
A memorial celebrating her life will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2014. Family will greet friends from 1-4 pm in the Banquet Room of Local Roots, 15 E. Olentangy Street, Powell, Ohio 43065. In lieu of flowers, a gift may be made in memory of Stella Lawrence to The Ohio State University College of Nursing. Checks should be made payable to 'OSU Foundation' with fund #303492 included in the check's memo line. Please also include 'IMO Stella Lawrence' on the check memo line or include as a separate note.
