Stephen Dennis Blazina

Stephen Dennis Blazina, aged 95, of Hilliard, Ohio, passed away suddenly on May 4, 2025 with his beloved wife, son, and grandson Ben by his side.

Steve was born on August 2, 1929 in Lorain, Ohio. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 57 years Carroll, son David, grandsons Benjamin Blazina, Zachary (Vanessa) Blazina, granddaughter Amber Jessup, and 6 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The youngest of 8 children, Steve was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Ljuba Blazina, and brothers Joseph, John, Charles, and Michael Blazina, and sisters Mary Yager, Anna Luca, and Hilda Chulig.

Steve received a Bachelor of Science in Education from The Ohio State University and Master of Education from Xavier University. He was an educator in the Columbus school system teaching high school industrial arts and adult education. Steve was a member of Epsilon Pi Tau International Honor Society in Industrial Arts and Industrial-Vocational Education. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War as a radio operator.

A kind and gentle soul with a wonderful sense of humor and infectious laugh, Steve was a dearly loved husband, father, and uncle. He found his greatest pleasure working in his yard which he had transformed into a quiet oasis where he spent so many hours just enjoying his time spent with his wife and family. His travels took him to warmer climates in winter and beach locations in summer. The family reunions he and Carroll hosted every two years until 2021 were legendary and always eagerly anticipated by his extended family. He will be missed by all who knew him including his many friends at Yogi's where he enjoyed camaraderie (and beer) several times a week. His "granddog" Thor will miss hearing Steve's voice and feeling the affection that Steve bestowed on him.
