Stephen Craig Reck, 69, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018.
He was born January 2, 1949 in Greenville, Ohio, to the late Herbert and Pauline (Wentworth) Reck.
Steve graduated from Greenville High School in 1967. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1968 to 1972. He loved cars, whether when working on them, driving them, or watching racing on television. He was a lifelong Cleveland Browns fan. He also deeply loved all animals, especially Becca, his pet African grey parrot.
Steve is survived by his daughter, Alexa Reck (David Staley) of Columbus; his grandchildren, Adam and Owen Staley; and his brother, James (Ellen) Reck of Franklin, North Carolina.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Reck.
A private gathering for family and friends will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019, at Gettysburg Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
