Steve had a wonderful sense of humor and was known for his love of sports, including football, basketball, and baseball. He was kind, loving, and had an ornery side that brought joy to those around him. He cherished spending time with his family and friends, making every moment special.
Growing up, Steve enjoyed going to small carnivals and riding the rides with his children Rod and Regina. He loved grilling out with family, swimming at home, and listening to music. Holidays were always a special occasion for him, filled with games and food shared with loved ones. He created lasting memories with his wife Bobbi during their trips to Las Vegas and Atlantic City.
Steve served in the Army from 1969 to 1971, where he worked as an engineer and carpenter. After his military service, he remained a devoted fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He enjoyed playing online poker, watching television, especially comedy and detective shows, and attending various sports games. Steve had a passion for Elvis and oldies music, as well as gambling in casinos.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Bobbi, with whom he spent 50 years, and their children: son Rodney (Chris) Balzer and daughter Regina (Brad) Smith. He is also survived by his brother John Tigyer, sisters Sue Cline and Mary Covietz, as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family who will miss him dearly.
