Susie K Hemming (née Fahner), a beloved mother, grandmother, wife, and cherished member of her community, passed away on June 12, 2026, in Circleville, Ohio. Born on October 20, 1962, in Columbus, Ohio, Susie’s life was a testament to love, dedication, and an unyielding spirit that profoundly touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Susie’s journey began with her early years in Columbus and her education at Buckeye Middle School, followed by her graduation from West Jefferson High School. These roots nurtured a young woman who carried her values of faith, care, and respect throughout her life.

Her career was marked by versatility and excellence. She served as a Mortgage Booker at Flag Ship Mortgage and worked as a Property Manager. However, her most treasured roles were those of a stay-at-home mom and devoted wife. Susie was always a top performer in her professional endeavors, excelling with grace and determination.

Above all else, Susie’s family was her world. She was a devoted wife of 40 years to Todd Hemming, a loving mother to daughter Suzanne Hemming and Shane Fahner, and a cherished grandmother to Mariah Hemming (Garrett Davis), Jayden Hemming (Kayleanne Ringler), and Lexi Stamper. Her love extended to her siblings Valerie Fenton and Harriette “Pokey” Mcgarvey, sister-in-law Stephanie Green, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and "bonus children" accrued over the years. Though she mourned the loss of her son Shane Fahner, her parents Harry and Eleanor (Clime) Fahner, brother Harry Fahner, and sister Cynthia Walker, their memories lived on in her enduring spirit.

Those who knew Susie remember her for the warmth she poured into every moment spent with her family. Vivid memories paint a picture of her daughter driving around with the timeless tune of "RESPECT" filling the car, grandchildren arriving home from school and singing into the broom, and joyous afternoons at the pool where Susie was not just a grandmother but a grandson’s best friend, happily playing alongside in the water. She was famous for her Fettuccine Alfredo, a dish that brought comfort and smiles around the family table. A clean freak to the core, Susie’s home was a sanctuary of care and order, reflecting the love she held for those within it.

Her personality sparkled with a unique look and a heart overflowing with generosity. She was known to secretly give her grandchildren money—always cautioning them to keep it a secret from their grandfather—demonstrating her playful and affectionate nature. Deeply religious and highly respected, Susie’s giving, caring, and loving spirit left an unforgettable imprint on all hearts she touched.

Susie’s proudest accomplishments were grounded in the simple yet profound joys of life: her family, her marriage, and the small symbols of freedom and pride like her beloved red convertible. Each element wove together the story of a woman whose love and strength illuminated every path she crossed.

The community is invited to pay their respects at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest, located at 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123. Visitation will take place on June 20, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by the funeral service from 2:00 PM.
