Suzann Moritz

Suzann Moritz, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026, in Powell, Ohio, at the age of 84. Born on January 7, 1942, in Lima, Ohio to the late Melvin Dale and Frances Ritchie.  Suzann lived a life centered around the people she loved. 

Suzann shared a lifetime of love with her devoted husband of 64 years, Larry Moritz, who survives in Powell.  Together, they built a family filled with love, support, and many cherished memories.

Her greatest joy was her family. Christi (Tim) Brown, Carla (Scott) Michael and Kirt (Nicole) Moritz; her grandchildren Grant (Erin) Brown, Treg (Julianne) Brown, Lance (Maryssa) Brown, Kayla Michael, Allison Michael, Rachel Michael, Morgan (Kyle Root) Moritz and great-granddaughter, Eliza Brown.

Suzann is also survived by her sisters, Diann Flanigan and Janelle (Gary) Stimmel, and her brother Tim (Ella) Ritchie.

Suzann was an avid golfer, proudly achieving five holes-in-one at Pelican Point golf course.  She loved fishing at the Indian River Lagoon, quilting, and playing euchre with family and friends.  Suzann and Larry also shared a love of travel, spending 20 years RVing throughout the US and Canada.

Suzann worked at Vistron, Dana Local Union, and Hunt, Moritz & Johnson. She had a heart for serving others and gave generously of her time through Stephen Ministry, mentoring at Pelican Island School, serving as a 4-H advisor, volunteering at Ecumenical Food Pantry and teaching Sunday School. 

Visitation will be held from 2-4pm, Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Newcomer Funeral Home, NW Chapel, 10051 Brewster Lane, Powell, OH, where a funeral service will begin at 4pm.
