Tejesh Srivastava

Tejesh Srivastava, 88, of Columbus, Ohio died Friday, March 20 at Darby Glenn Nursing Home. She was born December 19, 1937 in the city of Lakhimpur Kheri in India. Tejesh is preceded in death by her husband, Ramesh C. Srivastava whom she married in 1956, her parents, Raghunandan Prasad and Dhermavati Indra, her daughter, Kamalni Srivastava, and her son, Vishnu Srivastava. She is survived by son, Krish Srivastava of Dublin; daughter and son-in-law, Vini and Matt Misicka of Plain City; daughter and son-in-law, Renu and Tom Pannett of Hilliard; daughter-in-law, Sheila Srivastava Hubert of Salt Lake City; six grandchildren Elina, Vanessa, Zachary, Kovid, Marissa, and Monica, and one great granddaughter, Samara. Tejesh lived a life defined by courage, devotion, and quiet strength. She bravely traveled alone to the United States in 1963, leaving behind her entire support system to help create a future for her growing family. In Columbus, she devoted herself to raising four children, preserving the comforts of home while embracing a new culture, welcoming others, and nurturing community. She led by example—through hard work, modesty, honesty, and generosity—and her guidance shaped her children’s lives in profound ways. Her resilience carried her through life’s greatest challenges, including the loss of her infant daughter, adult son and the long years of caring for her husband through illness. Even in her later years, she met aging with grace, acceptance, and determination, continuing to teach through her actions. She leaves behind a legacy of love, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion and her family will forever be grateful for the life she built and the lessons she imparted.

Tejesh was a member of the Bharatiya Hindu Temple in Powell. The Funeral Service will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northwest Columbus Chapel, 10051 Brewster Ln, Powell, OH 43065. Monday March 23, Eulogy at 1:30 and Pooja at 2:00 pm. Family is asking that in lieu of flowers donations be made to a foundation near and dear to Tejesh’s heart that aims to help eradicate illiteracy and provide opportunities to impoverished children in rural India.
